Our patient online services are now live. You can download the registration form. The system allows you to book and cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view your medical record. Our new computer system also allows us to upload data to the Summary Care Record service and transfer computer records electronically when you change GP practice.

National Care.data programme
Care.data NHS England has commissioned a programme of work that will soon start extracting identifiable data about patients from their GP practice. Manchester Shared Care Record
We have joined this scheme which is running in the Manchester area. It sets up something called sharing agreements which allow your medical record to be viewed by other health providers in Manchester. You will be asked for your consent whenever somebody you are seeing in another setting wants to view your GP record held at Surrey Lodge. The purpose of this sharing is to support better care by healthcare staff having access to relevant medical information when they see you. Other settings already send information to Surrey Lodge when they have seen you. In the event that you are unable to give consent and it is deemed in your best interest, your record may be accessed, and there is a full audit facility to alert people if this happens so that the validity of the access can be checked.

Manchester Integrated Care Gateway (MICG)
We will soon be starting to use the MICG. This is a service that manages referrals on behalf of Manchester practices. In the event that you need referring for care outside of the practice, your referral will be sent to the MICG who will forward it to the appropriate provider of the service and act as the contact point should you need to check on progress. You will be given more details about this service at the time of your referral.
