Appointments can be made by phone or in person at the reception desk. Unless you request a specific doctor, you will be offered the next available appointment. We offer a range of appointment times each day between 08:20 and 18:00, although not all doctors are seeing patients constantly during these hours!

Although it is no longer a mandatory target, we still aim to offer an appointment with a doctor within 48 hours. In addition to this, we also provide a triage service each morning. If you feel you have a problem that is medically urgent and reception are unable to offer an appointment then they will add you to the triage list. A doctor or our nurse practitioner will then call you back to determine the best course of action. This could be to provide advice on the phone, to arrange to see you the same day or to provide reassurance and book you a routine appointment. Triage is based on medical need rather than what may be convenient for you.

Our nursing team are highly skilled and it may be appropriate to see one of them rather than the doctor. We have a Nurse Practitioner and two Practice Nurses. Our Nurse Practitioner is trained to deal with minor illness and can prescribe medication where needed. The list below outlines some of the things that you can see our nurses about.

If you are unable to get to the surgery then the doctor may be able to come and visit you at home. We ask you to call before 10:00 if you think you may need a home visit. Unfortunately we are unable to give a time the doctor may visit you.

When the surgery is closed our phone will automatically divert you to the out of hours provider. They will take details of your problem and arrange to see you if needed. We will receive a report about your attendance the next day.
